Discussion

This was the third and final of three spits excavated in the north-west corner of area 12AD, to define the sequence of enclosure ditches where they turned from a north-south to an east-west alignment. The material removed was a sandy loam (Munsell 10YR 4/3). Two ditches were defined, a north-south aligned 012AD05086, and an east-west aligned segment of 012AD08341.
